Hiked Skeleton Gorge to Maclear’s Crossing

I hiked skeleton gorge to maclear’s crossing on table moutain in the western cape. The elevation gain was 1,065m. We climbed a steep Afromontane forest using wooden ladders over waterfalls, and pops out right at the Hely-Hutchinson Reservoir before crossing the plateau to Maclear’s Beacon.

The reservoir was stunning. The water was red because of the rooibos bushes surround the lake, and it was covered with soft white sand. The water looked like liquid fire and it was incredible to see this reservoir on one of the peaks of table mountain.
